The best realtors aren’t amazing sales people, they’re excellent listeners.

There’s no doubt that buying and selling a home is one of life’s greatest joys (and pains). At Offerpad, our goal is to remove as much friction as possible for our users as they strive to bring to life “The American Dream”.

Before we can even take one step alongside our user in their journey, we must first build trust in our ability to do right by speaking clearly with confidence.

This is where design comes into play as we craft products that are not only elegant, but also clear and easy to navigate.

As Design continues to have a louder voice at the Offerpad table, our goal is to minimize as many “asks” as possible and listen closely to what our user is telling us.

(A great example of “giving over taking” is Glassdoor’s job search where they offer you the option to opt-in to the latest updates on openings that match your search criteria, only after you’ve clicked on a result that catches your eye.)

Data is king–let’s listen to what our users are looking for to help them define their needs.

As we move forward into 2020, our goals will be to continue to evolve a system around “Active Listening” where we use machine learning and user history and search patterns to help them find their way home.
